2002 4l80 overheating problem

Post by barry68; » Thu Oct 26, 2017 10:53 am

We have 2002 chevy 2500 gas engine pickup that we have a serious issue with the transmission overheating. we have changed everything we can think of and it still gets hot. 2 torque converters 2 trannys all new solenoids and wiring. transmission works great but heats up after about 25 miles. even added a larger add on cooler. Any input would be greatly appreciated

did you fix it? Having the same issue.. long drive..normal driving though.. lock up has no slip and the guy says that it will just start creeping up.. 250 range.. sent me a pic of the temp gauge. i havent had it act up myself. Going to replace the factory cooler and give back see if its better. but it has the radiator and external cooler built factory. never had this problem..
