4r75w temp issue

Post by motorcitymalone » Fri Oct 19, 2018 5:06 pm

201. 0 ford f150 with tow package . came in with no power and overheat on dash temp gauge. Rebuilt trans and replaced converter. converter had internal damage sounded like marbles inside. Now after about 30 or 40 miles gauge max out and scanner read trans temp at 235 degrees. Actual temp read with digital therometer 180 to 200. also you can pull dipstick and touch fluid. Have replaced temp sensor in trans no change. what else could cause this problem. Customer very relucten to drive vehicle even though appears not to be overheating and shifts find

the only thing I can think is TCM/ECM since it really is not running hot by the actual temp taken

It could be the in-line thermostat block on the cooler lines. Replace it. I've had 2 bad after rebuild. Mine were definatly getting hot though.
