6R140 Noise from bellhousing area

Post by Rudy210 » Tue Aug 20, 2019 10:15 am

Ok Im about to throw you all a curve ball. 6R140 gas truck came in with a noise from the bell housing in all gear ranges. Trans worked good. We saw a tsb for pump converter bearing goes bad and also affects torque converter hub. We pulled trans replaced TC and pump bearing twice! We still had a noise coming from between engine and trans area. Pulled trans and replaced with dealer pump, still has noise. Fyi we also inspected front drums planets etc. Everything looks ok. Has anyone had this same issue? Could this be a flex plate issue? Any feedback would be appreciated thanks in advance.

I had this same issue on a 2005 chevy Silverado 4L80e. it turned out to be the starter engage bearing, it was loose on the shaft
